- Technical Characteristics: It is the longest tourist lift in Bulgaria - 6270 m. The displacement is 1085 m., the trip lasts 30 min. and the capacity of the line is 1500 persons per hour
(on project). It was built for the World
Student Winter Games "Universiade '83" and was officially
opened on April 4, 1983. It was
constructed by the Austrian company "Doppelmayr", which
in 2002 became
part of the Austrian-Swiss group "Doppelmayr-Garaventa" (Web-site).
The lower lift station (First) is
located in the
lands of Simeonovo Residential District on 718 m. altitude. At the first medial
station (Second and Third in one building), on 1370 m., ends the first part of
the rope line. In the medial lift station the
cabins are taken by second rope, so the
passengers do not descend to take the
other lift. Here the doors open automatically and
those who like may go up or down. On the second medial station (Fourth, 1531 m. altitude) only the cabins going upward pass through.
During the ski season skiers descend
here to take Akademika Triplå Chairlift, serving Vitoshko Lale Ski
run. The upper lift station
(Fifth) is next to Aleko Chalet – on 1803 m.
altitude
and during the ski season
serviced Aleko ski center. In the First
and the Fifth lift
stations are located spacious garages for
250
cabins produced by the Austrian
company "Swoboda". The length/the
denivelation
from the lower
to the first medial
station is 3708/652 m. and
from
the first medial
station to
the upper one – 2562/433
m.
(Total:
6270/1085
m.).

"Zooparka" Bus Station the transfer from urban buses (# 10-TM, 83, 88,
120) on the bus # 122 is the most comfortable in the area of the junction to Paradise Center Mall in Hladilnika Residential District. Here is planned to
introduce commissioning of "Metrostantsiya Vitosha" Tram Stop (tram
# 10) and
"Vitosha" Subway Station. Transfer from urban bus
# 111 and suburban bus # 67 on
the bus # 122 is performed at the Ring Road

- Technical Characteristics: It built in 1962 and is the first cabin lift in Bulgaria. It is constricted by the Austrian
company "Brüder
Girak"
(founded
in 1920), which in 1996
merged with Swiss company "Garaventa" in Austrian-Swiss company "Girak-Garaventa":

The lift is of the type with two ropes - carrying and towing. The lower lift station is located
in Knyazhevo Residential District on 744 m. altitude and its final
station is on Kopitoto Summit on 1348 m. altitude, next to the 160-m. TV tower, by overcoming the elevation difference of 604 m.
In the two stations were located the garages for 54 cabins produced by the
Austrian company "Swoboda".
The length of the line is
1900 m., its capacity - 600 persons per hour and the trip lasted 11 min.
Along the route were placed
a

pillars
and
the design speed of the lift was 3 m/sec. In 1992 was an accident and since then does not work. The lift stations are plundered
and it is not possible its restoration in its original form. The lift
